es2 Google mapAdding text to a Google Map information window

The Google Map system used on es2 uses JavaScript to display its maps. Whilst adding text, such as your address, to an information window on a Google map is easy, there are a few things you should bear in mind.

Any text intended to be used in an information window must be set out in one single line. Do not use carriage returns or line breaks.  If you do, your map will not display at all!

You can use as many HTML tags as you like, including links and even pictures, in the information window.

  • You must type your HTML code in a single line.
  • Do not use carriage returns or line breaks.
  • Always use double quotes in your HTML. Using single quotes will stop your map from displaying.
  • If you need to use a single quote, i.e. as in Partner's, then you must 'escape' the single quote by preceding it with a back slash. Example: Partner\'s. If you do not do this your map may not display.
